„Boule is cool!“

Pétanque (Boule) is an important part of our club life, if only because of the annual boules tournament, which usually takes place on the last weekend in August at the end of summer. The pitch is occupied by various groups, which you are welcome to join by arrangement:

Tuesday group: The men from Schmitten are professionals and play every second Tuesday of the month.

Friday group: In summer, from 7 pm, if it gets dark earlier, earlier too. At the moment, as of 17.10.2021 already at 5 pm.

Saturday group: In summer time at 3 pm, with the change to normal time the common play already starts at 2 pm.

The “boules”

Rules in Neu-Anspach

We also have our own rules, because we all enjoy playing boules: the two top rules on the pitch are enjoyment of the game and enjoyment of conviviality, and all the other rules are derived from these:

1. we do not measure distances.

2. if in doubt, the last team simply plays on.

3. the piggy should be at least 50 cm away from the cushion, although you can use good judgement here.

4. If a ball is out of bounds, it is out of play – this applies to the piggy as well.

5. we also pay attention to the neighbours,

6. whoever grumbles from outside is kindly invited to join the game.

7. we leave the pitch cleaner than when we entered it.
